As we settle into our routine for the week, we are reminded of the importance of the true meaning of philanthropy, love of humankind. Many people volunteer and give to their community or causes because they care and share kindness for others. At the Community Foundation we partner with caring people in creating endowment funds, their legacy fund to demonstrate their care for humanity.

Legacy funds are created with donations that are directed to a purpose or direction that is important to the individual. We see people focus on specific areas like youth, arts, and health, or we also see many who wish to support the whole community and what the needs are annually. These funds are the most flexible to respond to concerns identified by the community and projects like the Vital Signs report.
When a Fund is established with the Community Foundation, we don’t know who may be touched by the impact of the positive step of creating a fund. I say this, because the intent is to provide a steady stream of grant support to the charitable organizations for years to come, in perpetuity.
Every day we at the Community Foundation see the impact of these funds. We hear the stories of how students can focus on their schooling versus stressing over financial strains. We visit the organizations that are on the ground working hard to ensure the spirit of community is strong for all. We also see the changes in social challenges through projects like Vital Signs.
Our donors and partners care about the future of local citizens and wish to ensure there are resources available to make a difference.
I encourage you to consider what your endowment fund would look like today, and into the future.
I am available at (780) 538-2820 to discuss how you can partner with the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta in building community, connecting people and increasing our collective sense of belonging throughout the region.
Warmest wishes,
