Another month has flown by at our office. We are so fortunate that the changes that keep coming our way have helped us have impact in our communities! The days move quickly as we aim to support, lead, and grow within our region.
We had the privilege of welcoming three new Board members as well at our Annual General Meeting in May. We are excited to have Sandra Mellon, Cecilia Mzvondiwa, and Todd Russell join our team! We know that each of them bring a unique perspective and desire to make a difference!
We have been moving quickly to adjust for our communities. Making connections, forging new relationships, and extending help where we can have been highlights for our team. In times like this, we are encouraged to see the steadfast support from our local businesses. Recognizing the need in our community and backing our efforts with donations, we have partnered with business to provide relief for those adversely affected by the pandemic.
To our fabulous fundholders, watch for your annual fund statement. You will be receiving them by the end of June!
Now more than ever, change around the world is evident. Across the globe, we are saddened by the unrest and conflict surrounding racial inequality. However, we remain trusting that the good of humanity and the collective commitment of community will bring change and inclusion so no one is left behind. It starts with kindness.

Emergency Community Support Funding Available
Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta is activating Emergency Community Support Fund alongside communities coast to coast to coast.
Vulnerable populations across Canada continue to be disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Marginalized groups, youth, children and the elderly, essential workers, and newcomers are just some of the communities that are facing increased challenges right now.
We encourage you to share with your contacts who might qualify for this opportunity who are in the Northwestern Alberta. We are motivated to reach all areas of our region.
