Supporting Community

Dear Friends,

As your community foundation, we are committed to supporting the charities and organizations who will be significantly impacted in both the short and long-term by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta is currently exploring the ways in which we can best address the impacts in a coordinated and thoughtful way.

The Foundation would like to assure our donors, grantees and other partners that we are committed to doing our best to provide ongoing support and services during this difficult time.

We are closely monitoring the advice of Alberta Health Services and Canada’s Public Health Services to understand the situation as it unfolds and share this information.

Our office is closed to the public; however, we will continue to serve our community through virtual meetings and all staff can be reached by phone and email.

For charitable donations – we encourage all stakeholders to make their gift through our online platform. Should you wish to donate by cheque, we are able to intermittently receive and process donations via mail. We will be unable to take donations in-person.

As we all navigate this unchartered territory and feel moments of unease we encourage you to continue to spread kindness. Reach out and connect with your friends and family electronically, smile at a stranger, take time to enjoy nature, read a good book, cook a nice meal, play games or dance to your favorite song. If we show kindness and take care of our mental, physical and emotional well-being, we will all come out of this stronger, more connected and more resilient.

One of our community’s greatest strengths is coming together in times of uncertainty and adversity. We live in one of the most determined and generous communities and we are proud to be a partner in wellness.

Thank you for your ongoing support and your dedication to our communities. It is going to take all of us, working together, to navigate these challenging times. We will continue to update as new messaging unfolds.

Warmest Wishes,
