Society for Support to Pregnant & Parenting Teens

Becoming a parent is challenging. Becoming a parent as a teenager comes with its own unique set of challenges including that of finding safe and affordable childcare.

In Grande Prairie, the Society for the Support of Pregnant and Parenting Teens is helping young parents address those challenges with its First Steps Development Centre, thanks in part to funding through the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta and the Grande Prairie Keg Steakhouse & Bar Pregnant Teen Program Fund.

“The Community Foundation has been a connector and advocate. Demonstrating the needs within our community to various stakeholders as well as educating us about needs and resources to meet the needs,” says executive director Melodie McCracken.

You can make a difference in our community – not only for today but forever. When you make a donation to the Grande Prairie Keg Steakhouse & Bar Pregnant Teen Program Fund, we invest that gift into a permanent endowment fund and the original gift is never spent.  Earnings from your gift are distributed to the Society for Support to Pregnant & Parenting Teens Program to support needs in the community.
