Community Kitchen and Foodbank Fund

2019 Vital Signs shows 1 in 10 households experience food insecurity in Alberta. Household food insecurity refers to inadequate or insecure access to food because of financial constraints.

This fund is designated to support the Salvation Army food bank needs and the Community Kitchen hot meal program.

“The Community Kitchen brings people together to share food, cultures, and stories. Community-based cooking opportunities allow individuals to build relationships with each other and reduce social isolation while learning how to cook different dishes. The kitchen works to bridge these connections across different cultural and generational groups. Community Kitchen sounds like “Soup Kitchen” but we assure you Community Kitchen Grande Prairie Friendship Centre Alberta is not a soup kitchen. We have a highly Qualified Culinary team with a Red Seal Chef leading the team and we are serving lavish meals year round.”
