GPRC Summer Dino Camp

2010_GPRC_Dino_Camp"With the support from Community Foundation, Grande Prairie Regional College has been able to offer four dinosaur camps.  The grant from the Talisman Energy Fund comprised about one third of the camps’ budget. Without this help GPRC would not have been able to provide quality programming for these popular camps.

There were many activities that the campers participated in throughout each week of camp. They learned about the many different groups of dinosaurs with more emphasis on the dinosaurs of the Peace Region. Presentations centered on dinosaur palaeontology, dinosaur tracks, the famous fossil locations of our Peace Region and the process of exploration, excavation, interpretation and display of fossil bones.
