Community Leaders Luncheon

In fourteenth-century France, the Burghers of Calais achieved timeless renown for their devotion to their city.

For the past three years, our local Burghers and community leaders have come together for a luncheon at Centre 2000 in celebration of local philanthropy.

This exclusive event rewards our Burghers with a great big gourmet Keg burger and mouth-watering apple pie served a la mode from Jeffrey's Cafe and Marble Slab Creamery in return for their $500 gift in support of the administration endowment fund and operations of the Community Foundation.

"We often speak about community leaders; what makes a leader? A leader is defined as a person who rules, guides or inspires others. As parents we try to inspire our children to tell the truth, respect their elders and have good manners. We inspire our teenagers to make good decisions, do well in school, be responsible and eventually be good spouses and parents. Everyone in this room has been inspired: inspired to support their community, to make the place we live work and play a better place. The work we are doing now will soon provide support for our children, our grandchildren and their grandchildren. That is the beauty of the Community Foundation, it allows anyone to do something good today that will last forever." ~ Ron Regnier, Past Chair

We thank all those that attended our 3rd annual Burghers of Calais Community Leaders Luncheon for your support. Your gift will help us continue to inspire philanthropy and local giving for local needs, forever.
