There's nothing better than a good old fashioned barbeque to bring people together in the summer. That was exactly the idea behind the Grande Spirit Foundation's Traveling Barbeque project, and with help from the Susan and David Ainsworth Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie, it’ has become a reality.
The Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie inspires philanthropy by providing a way for anyone to leave a lasting legacy to our community through permanent endowment building, responsible grants and leadership to meet our community’s needs for today, tomorrow and forever.
The Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie is dedicated to securing our future by building tomorrow today. Our foundation operates independently and is governed by a board of local volunteer leaders. We are linked at the national level through our membership to the Community Foundations of Canada.

Endowment BuildingWe pool the charitable gifts of many donors to build and create permanent, income generating endowment funds that will benefit the community over the long term.
Donor ServicesWe connect donors to the issues and organizations that matter most to them and the community. We act like a financial advisor in providing a variety of funds that meet the donors needs which support a variety of local charities for maximum impact.
Grant makingWe use the income earned on the endowment funds to give grants to a wide range of community initiatives.
Community LeadershipWe work with the community at large to bring people together to identify and address local issues.
